Is ContriKaro free to use?
Yes! ContriKaro offers a generous free tier for basic expense splitting and shared lists. For advanced features like AI receipt detection, automated currency conversion, and premium analytics, we offer a Pro subscription.
How do I get started with my first split?
Simply create a group, invite your friends via link or QR code, and start adding expenses. Our AI assistant (coming soon) can even scan your physical receipts to automatically categorize and assign costs.

How does AI detection work?
Our AI uses OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to read receipt data. It identifies the merchant, date, tax, and individual line items. It then intelligently suggests how items should be split based on your group's history and preferences.
What are the different split modes available?
You can split equally, by exact amounts, by percentages, or by custom ratios. We also support "Itemized Splitting" where each person pays for exactly what they consumed.
Payments
How do I settle my balances?
ContriKaro tracks who owes what — settling happens on your terms. We never store bank credentials or payment details. You can settle balances outside the app via UPI, bank transfer, cash, or any method you prefer.
